Our Orthotic Process
Assess – Biomechanics (Initial Appointment)
When prescribing an orthoses it is important that a full assessment has been completed. Our podiatrists aim to accurately identify the injured tissues, accurate diagnosis is a crucial element.
It is important to assess your movement with functional tasks, walking and running which lets us understand what may have contributed to an injury, and we then design patient specific treatment plans aimed at addressing the identified causes; This may include orthotic therapy .
If your podiatrist suggests an orthotic prescription he will give a sound explanation and reasoning why this may be used.
Capture (3D Scan Taken at Initial or Follow Up)
Utilizing a process known as stereo photogrammetry, we’re able to determine the location of points on an object. During the SOLS fitting process we extract foot morphology data to generate a topographic map of the foot by identifying reference measurements made in two or more photographic images taken from different positions.
Prescribe & Design
Our Podiatrist have studied the mechanics and dynamics of the foot and gait cycle to build a product made specifically for you to reduce your pain, increase comfort and improve your function.
Our orthotics are configured to your function, pain, activity and footwear to offer you a completely tailored solution.
Our orthotics are firm enough to support you, and flexible enough to absorb striking impacts and propel you back into action.
Fitting Appointment (Follow Up Appointment)
At this appointment the orthotics are fitted to your feet and footwear. A consultation with the podiatrist is essential at this step to ensure the orthotics are achieving what they are supposed to and to allow for small adjustments to be made. Please make sure you bring the shoes you plan to wear the orthotics in.
